Aubameyang shocked after Tuchel's departure but hopeful about future

The Gabonese star had only a few days to work with his former coach, but he is hopeful for the future.

Chelsea

striker

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

, who was shocked by Thomas Tuchel's dismissal, expressed hope that good days are ahead for Chelsea and himself.

In the summer, Aubameyang left Barcelona and joined Chelsea to reunite with his former boss Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge. However, Tuchel was sacked by the Blues' new owners after just seven games on the Chelsea bench this season, with Graham Potter replacing him quickly. while expressing his sadness at Tuchel's departure, Aubameyang predicted good days for himself and Chelsea.

He said:

“Everyone knows the relationship that I had with Thomas. It’s always sad when someone leaves the club. Obviously, I just saw him for a few days. When you play football you have to adapt very quickly to some moments in the season, this can happen.

“It’s been a crazy week for all of us, that’s part of the life, we have to adapt, I think it’s a bit of sadness at the moment, hopefully we’ll get back to better days soon. Obviously, I think it’s a bit strange for everybody, not only for me, but as I said, this is football, you have to adapt.”

In Potter's first appearance on the bench last night, Chelsea faced

Red Bull Salzburg

and was held to a 1-1 draw. Aubameyang has yet to score his first goal for the Blues and is trying to find a place for himself in the former Brighton coach's system.
