Bellingham and Hummels reacts to Dortmund's late loss to Man City

Dortmund lost away to Manchester City in the Champions League on a night which Erling Haaland scored the winning goal against his former club.

Dortmund

who beat Copenhagen with three goals in the first week of the Champions League group stage, lost 2-1 against

Manchester City

at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

Mats Hummels after the game about Haaland's winner told reporters:

"We're all behind the ball where we're meant to be, but no one closes the ball down and we let a cross reach Erling Haaland, who is just Erling Haaland! The frustration sits deep and will all night."

Jude Bellingham

, Dortmund midfielder, after the game told DAZN:

"I think we were brilliant for the majority of the game. Gave them little to work with. their really good players were playing well, but they weren't necessarily killing us in dangerous areas. I think that's where we had the advantage and, obviously great teams, you give them a yard and they can deliver like that, they can hurt you and that's what they did tonight."

Bellingham puts Dortmund ahead early in the second half but two quick goals in the 80th and 84th minutes from City changed the scoreline.

"I don't think we created loads either so it's hard to say we deserved to score more goals, but I think definitely we defended the goal really well. Meyer made some big saves and we were really compact. Maybe it's a side of us you don't see as often in the Bundesliga, so it's good to kind of practice that in this kind of game for when we need it going forward, but in the end, it's pretty disappointing."

Bellingham also about Haaland's winner said:

"Yeah I knew it [would be him] to be honest. Not many people know how to stop him. We did a really good job until maybe 88 minutes tonight and then he did what he does – unfortunately for us.
