Giggs is accused of using controlling and coercive behavior against ex-girlfriend Kate Greville between August 2017 and November 2020. He is also charged with assaulting her younger sister, Emma Greville.

Giggs who denies the charges against him was first arrested in the case and released on bail in November 2020. Gigg

s

admitted being a 'liar' and a 'cheat' during the trial but denied he'd ever assaulted Greville. He also told the court his relationship with Greville started while he was married to his ex-wife Stacey.

The jury of seven women and five men was sent out to begin their deliberations on Tuesday after 12 days of trial.

Judge Hilary Manley asked the jury to consider if the relationship between Ryan Giggs and Kate Greville "veered off the rails" due to her inability to accept his serial womanizing, or it was "much more sinister and darker” and remind them Giggs is not on trial for being "serially unfaithful”. Judge also told the panel it must reach "unanimous" verdicts.
