Ajax’s Brobbey turned down Man Utd’s offer

Brian Brobbey has said that he rejected an offer from the Red Devils in the summer to rejoin Ajax.

Brian Brobbey

announced that has revealed that Erik ten Hag talked to him about a move to

Manchester United

before he decided to make a move back to

Ajax

from

RB Leipzig

. The two worked together when he was on a loan spell in Amsterdam in the previous season.

"I absolutely wanted to come back to Ajax,"

Brobbey told Voetbal International.

"Erik also wanted to work with me again, he texted me once to see if I was open to it. But I thanked him nicely and told him I wanted to go back to Ajax. My friends are here, Ajax’s playing style… it just wasn’t finished yet."

Brobbey is not the only player to turn down United in the summer, with the Red Devils boss looking short up front. The problem would become worse if Cristiano Ronaldo decides to leave the club before the transfer window closes.

Brobbey will play when Ajax go to Utrecht on Sunday. The 20-year-old has met the back of the net once and contributed two assists this season.
