Tottenham’s Lo Celso re-joins Villarreal on loan

As per recent reports, Gio Lo Celso’s move to Villarreal on a loan contract has been confirmed by Tottenham and the player’s deal will keep him there until 2023, with no option to purchase included.

Tottenham

midfielder

Giovani Lo Celso

has joined

Villarreal

on a loan deal. The 26-year-old had a hard time making his way to Antonio Conte’s ploys last season, but he was a crucial player under the reign of Unai Emery at La Ceramica.

He met the back of the net one time and contributed one assist in 16 matches in La Liga for the Yellow Submarine.

However, he went back to the Spurs this summer and was again left out of the squad for the pre-season matches. This raised many speculations regarding his future at the club.

He climbed down the pecking order as Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp, Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr were all above him, so he decided to depart the club and re-join the Spanish side.

Since the two parties could not reach an agreement on his price tag, he will join Villarreal on a loan deal. As per reports from Fabrizio Romano, he underwent his medical and finalized his return to

La Liga

.

His loan deal will not have an option to purchase and he has three years left on his contract with Tottenham.
