Arteta hopes Arsenal fans welcome Aubameyang if he return to PL

Barcelona signed Robert Lewandowski in the summer and Aubameyang is on the verge of leaving Camp Nou.

Arsenal

head coach Mikel Arteta expressed his hope that if

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

returns to the Premier League, the fans will give him a good welcome.

Aubameyang left Arsenal and joined

Barcelona

after falling out with Arteta and being stripped of the captain's armband. After half a season in Barcelona, he is on the verge of returning to the Premier League and it is said that Chelsea wants to hire him. Arteta expressed hope that if Aubameyang returns, the fans will treat him well.

Arteta said:

"It's a long time since that happened. I cannot go back each time there is a series. I have made my comments on that.

"What has been done has to defend the club and put it in the best possible position.

"Auba is an exceptional player. He did so much for us. I hope he gets a good reception [if he comes back], because I think he deserves that."
