Official: Gonzalo Villar joins Sampdoria from AS Roma
Gonzalo Villar has officially moved from Roma to Sampdoria on a loan deal with an option to buy.
The 24-year-old Spanish winger didn't impress
Jose Mourinho
last year, and he didn't play in the league at all before going on loan to
Getafein January. Villar did a little better in Spain. In 10 La Liga games, he had one assist.
As the club said, Villar has joined
Sampdoria
from
Romaon a loan deal with an option to buy for €8 million. He will now be added to
Marco Giampaolo
's team before their first game of the Serie A season on August 13 against Atalanta.
After he got there, Villar talked about how happy he was about the move. "I'm glad to be here, and hello to all of you fans."
In January 2020, Elche sold Villar to Roma in a deal worth €5 million. He played for the club in 63 games across all competitions but only helped once. This season, the Spaniards will try to do even better in Liguria.
