Werner agrees pay cut to return to RB Leipzig

The German star has failed to live up to expectations in the Premier League and seems to have reached the end of the line with Chelsea.

Timo Werner

has reportedly reached an agreement with

RB Leipzig

to leave

Chelsea

and return to the Bundesliga on a pay cut.

Leipzig have agreed to pay £47.5m to bring the German striker back to Stamford Bridge just two years after his move. The German striker, who joined Chelsea for £25m, is said to be leaving the city after a disappointing spell in London, where he scored 23 goals and provided 21 assists in 89 games.

Werner is currently Chelsea's highest-paid player, but he recently announced that he plans to join a team where he can play regularly with the upcoming World Cup, which upset Thomas Tuchel.

Now he is expected to pass the medical tests soon and return to the team where he scored 34 goals and 13 assists in 45 games in his final season.
