PSG midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum joins Roma on loan

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has joined Roma on loan.

Roma

has announced they have signed

Georginio Wijnaldum

from

Paris Saint-Germain

on loan. Roma will pay around €5 million and will cover 50 percent of his salary.

Jose Mourinho's side also has the option to buy Wijnaldum from PSG permanently for €8m next summer.

The 31-year-old Wijnaldum joined PSG last summer as a free transfer but failed to live up to expectations at the French club but won the league title with them.

“It’s a really good feeling to be a Roma player,”

Wijnaldum told the Roma website.

“Everyone I have spoken to has given me great feedback about the club and its fans.

“The club made it clear just how much they wanted me in the efforts they made to complete the deal, which always gives a player a lot of confidence and belief. The reception from the supporters, on social media and elsewhere, has also been fantastic.

“I promise to give 100% and help the team compete for all our targets this season.”

Roma this summer also has signed Nemanja Matic, Mile Svilar, Zeki Celik

,

and

Paulo Dybala on a free transfer.
