final at Wembley which ended with a 2-1 after extra time victory for England. This is the first time England has won a Euro tournament in Men’s or Women’s games.

Ella Toone put England in front in the 62nd minute but Lina Magull equalized with 11 minutes left of normal time. Chloe Kelly's extra-time winner in the 110th minute handed the trophy to the Lionesses.

The Euro 2022 final broke the attendance record for any European Championship match at either men's or women's tournament. Sunday’s final between England and Germany has set a new attendance record after 87,192 spectators attended Wembley. The previous record of 79,115 was for the men's final in 1964 between hosts Spain and the Soviet Union at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Germany captain and six-goal top scorer Alexandra Popp was ruled out before the match by a muscle injury. Germany’s Oberdorf wins Young Player of the Tournament and Golden Boot goes to Beth Mead, who also gets Player of the Tournament.
