Juventus in talks with Chelsea over acquiring Timo Werner

Juventus is in talks with Chelsea over the potential signing of Timo Werner.

According to Fabrizio Romano, discussions between

Chelsea

and

Juventus

for

Timo Werner

started on Monday and the talks are ongoing. Romano claims that Chelsea could let Werner go on loan this summer but at the moment Alvaro Morata still is Max Allegri’s top target.

Gianluca Di Marzio also reports that Allegri wants a forward and their first choice remains Alvaro Morata but so far they have not reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid and their alternatives are Manchester United's Anthony Martial and Chelsea's Timo Werner.

The Germany international joined the west London giants from RB Leipzig two years ago for £47.7 million but he has yet to live up to the high expectations. The 26-year-old striker has scored 23 goals in 89 matches.

Chelsea has attacking options including Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech, and they also Brough Raheem Sterling and therefore are willing to sell Werner. Chelsea also had discussed Werner in the negotiations for Matthijs de Ligt with Juventus.

Fabrizio Romano also says that a return to Leipzig is also a possibility for Werner if he does not move to Juventus.
