England women's coach returns to dugout after negative Covid test

Sarina Wiegman will be back on the touchline for England’s Euro 2022 quarter-final against Spain on Wednesday after a negative Covid test.

England

has announced their head coach Sarina Wiegman has recovered from Covid and will sit on the bench against Spain.

She missed last Friday’s final group game against Northern Ireland after a positive Covid test.

"Sarina Wiegman has tested negative for Covid,"

a statement from the FA read.

"Wiegman will now return to all elements of her role and will take her place on the bench for tonight's quarter-final against Spain.”

Wiegman  in yesterday's press conference said:

"It's not the worst nightmare, just a situation we have to deal with. I'm around and still doing my job. I'm just doing things virtually or outside from a big distance with the mask.

"I've been involved in all of the training, I just make sure I don't get close to people. But you can always observe real closely and sometimes give a message."

England beat Austria with one goal in the first group match and then defeated Norway with 8 goals and finally beat Northern Ireland with 5 goals.

The winners of England's clash with Spain will play with either Sweden or Belgium in Semi Final of

EURO 2022.
