Everton charged by FA over pitch invasions during Crystal Palace win

Everton football club has been charged by the English Football Association for pitch invasions.

The FA has announced that

Everton

has been charged for pitch invasions during their

Premier League

match against

Crystal Palace

in May.

The statement added:

"It is alleged that in the 84th minute and then following completion of the fixture, Everton FC failed to ensure that its spectators, and all persons purporting to be its supporters or followers, conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and refrained from using threatening and/or violent behavior while encroaching onto the pitch area.”

Everton has until July 18 to provide a response.

Frank Lampard's side was two goals down against Palace but in the end, they won 3-2 at Goodison Park in the penultimate league fixture of the season to ensure survival in the Premier League. Michael Keane, Richarlison, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the goals for Everton.

After Calvert-Lewin's goal in the 84th minute, the match was temporarily stopped after a pitch invasion occurred. There was also a full-scale invasion of the pitch from supporters after the final whistle.

Palace manager Patrick Vieira was involved in an altercation with an Everton fan during the pitch invasion. The FA and Merseyside Police decided to take no further action.
