Breaking: Dortmund signs Haller from Ajax as Haaland replacement

The 27-year-old striker officially joins Dortmund as Haaland’s replacement. Haller impressed at Ajax last season, becoming the top scorer in the Eredivisie with 21 goals, while also meeting the back of the net eleven times in eight Champions League games.

officially announced the permanent signature of Ajax’s French striker, Sebastian Haller. The Bundesliga giants announced the signing with

a statement

read: “Borussia Dortmund is excited to announce the signing of Sébastien Haller from Ajax on a contract until 2026!”

Ajax gave West Ham United €22.5 million to pen a contract with Haller in 2021, with the ex-Utrecht and Eintracht Frankfurt star playing in 65 games for the Amsterdam side, finding the target 47 times and contributing 16 assists. Dortmund is rumored to have paid a fee of €33 million for the former Gladbach striker.

 

Dortmund’s new no. 9 said after signing the Dortmund contract:

“It's a great stadium, but the greatest stadium is nothing without its fans.

“I can hardly wait to be able to feel the support of more than 80,000 spectators as part of the BVB family.

“Hopefully, we will achieve great things together in the coming years and then be able to celebrate together.”

Karim Adeyemi

from Red Bull Salzburg as they prepare for life without Haaland. The 20-year-old Germany international scored 25 goals in 39 appearances for the Austrian champions last season
