Elliott Hails Liverpool’s Fabio Carvalho as the “Perfect Player”

Liverpool added another Fulham wonderkid to its squad this season by signing the 19-year-old midfielder Fabio Carvalho from the Lilywhites. The Portuguese followed Harvey Elliott’s steps to become a Red as Elliott expresses his love for the teammate.

Carvalho was a key part of Fulham that won the Championship title last season. He contributed 10 goals and eight assists before departing after his contract expiration.

Although

Carvalho

, like Elliott, came through Fulham's academy, their age difference is less than a year, they never played together in Fulham's first team, with Elliott leaving for Liverpool a year before Carvalho's professional debut.

However, Elliott is eager to see the Portugal U21 in action for the Reds as he believes in the qualities he brings. Elliott told

Liverpool's official website

:

"He brings everything, in all fairness. He has a great attitude, he has the flair, the skill, the determination, and he can score and assist as well."

Elliott

added:

“He's the perfect player, in my eyes," Elliott continued, "and to have him on board and to have him in the building and around us, he'll only make us better players as well, and it will only make him a better player.

"It's been a long time, and to hopefully share the pitch with him again and to have that link-up, it'll be great and I'm just looking forward to it. Hopefully, he can show everyone why we signed him."

Liverpool tried to

sign the youngster in January

but the move eventually failed. Following Harvey Elliott's transfer to Fulham in 2019, Liverpool was ordered to pay Fulham a record compensation price in February 2021. Fulham might get a sum in the region of £4 million if add-on terms are met, and they have also included a significant sell-on clause, estimated to be 20%. Liverpool might face the same case with the Portuguese midfielder’s deal.
