Atletico Madrid ‘contact Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin

The Spain international has a year left on his contract and could continue his career in his home country after his time at Betis.

GOAL has heard that

Atletico Madrid

wants to sign Hector Bellerin from Arsenal this summer. The right-back had a good season on loan at Real Betis, where he helped the Spanish team win the

Copa del Rey

.

Betis wants to sign the

Spain

international to a long-term deal this summer, but they have limited funds and aren't the only team interested in him. Atletico has kept in touch with the 27-year-agents, old's and coach Diego Simeone wants the club to get a new right-back.

Emerson Royal of Spurs, Pablo Maffeo of Mallorca, Nordi Mukiele of

RB Leipzig

, Nahuel Molina of Udinese, and Jonathan Clauss of Lens are all on their list. Now, Bellerin has been added to that list of targets by Capital Club. Atletico has talked to the player's agents, but their interest in the player has waned in recent days. Bellerin doesn't want to stay at

Arsenal

.

He still has a year left on his contract, but after about 10 years with the north London team, he has no future there. No one at the Premier League team wants to stop him from finding a new team, and they are willing to let him go for a low price before next season. Since he joined the Gunners from Barcelona in 2011, Bellerin has played 238 games in all competitions. It seems more likely that Bellerin will leave Arsenal this summer than that he won't. He wants to leave, and Arsenal won't stop him.

Last season, Bellerin loved playing for

Real Betis

, and in an ideal world, he would already have a permanent spot at his hometown club. But his wages are making it hard to make any kind of deal. I hope it gets worked out and he gets a move, whether it's to Betis, Atletico, or another Spanish team.

Bellerin has done a lot for Arsenal, and it's sad that his time there has come to an end in this way. The injury he got against Chelsea in 2019 hurt him a lot, and both physically and mentally, he hasn't been the same player since. But when he went back to Betis last season, he fell in love with football again, and it was nice to see him smiling again.

Bellerin is still a very popular player at Arsenal, which is why no one at the club will stop him from leaving this summer. All that needs to be done is to find a deal that works for everyone. We hope that happens as soon as possible.
