Xavi wants Pique out of Barcelona

According to the Spanish newspaper Sport,

manager Xavi two weeks ago told

that he does not count on him anymore and he can leave the club.

This report claims that Xavi due to Pique’s physical problems and his unprofessional conduct off the pitch is surplus to requirements.

Sport newspaper says that Pique does not want to leave Barcelona and wants to prove Xavi wrong. Pique in this meeting has told Xavi that he would train harder than ever to get back to his best form and is ready to abandon some of his other commitments. This meeting happened before Pique’s split from Colombian singer Shakira.

Barcelona has been negotiating with free agents defenders like Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcus Alonso and Xavi is also keen on signing Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.

The 35-year-old Pique has a deal with Barcelona until 2024. Barca owes him around 40m euros from payments that have been deferred and this makes his departure even more difficult.
