Aston Villa acquire the services of Sevilla’s Diego Carlos
Following a great spell in Spain with Sevilla, Diego Carlos will now join Aston Villa.

Premier Leagueside confirmed last week that the two parties agreed terms for singing the Brazilian. Moreover, personal terms have also been reached and a medical was done. Now, his move has been secured before the opening of the transfer window.
Villa are going to pay an initial £26.4million (€31m) to Sevilla, but it may go higher to £34m (€40m) through bonuses.
Diego Carlos is the Premier League club’s third signing before the start of the next season, having also announced that Boubacar Kamara will join on a free transfer from Marseille following on from Philippe Coutinho's loan move from the Blaugrana becoming permanent.
The defender attracted the attention of Newcastle United in January but he will now link up with Steven Gerrard’s team, who ended the Premier League season sitting 14th on the table.
The 29-year-old featured in 136 matches for Sevilla since joining from Nantes in 2019. They won the Europa League in 2020.
Diego Carlos was also part of his national team that won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
