The Czech star is having a good time in the Bundesliga.

Bayer Leverkusen

have extended the contract of striker

Patrik Schick

for another five years.

Schick, along with Cristiano Ronaldo, was the competition's top scorer at Euro 2020, scoring five goals. He transferred this good form to the current season and scored 24 goals in 27 league games to help Leverkusen advance to next season's Champions League. Only

Bayern Munich

striker Robert Lewandowski has outperformed Schick in the Bundesliga, with teams such as Arsenal and Newcastle looking to sign him. Now Schick expressed his happiness with the extension with the club and claimed that their goal is to advance from the group stage of the Champions League.

He said:

"I just feel good here. It's a lot of fun with these guys. Qualifying for the Champions League is a good next step,"

Schick said.

"A lot is possible here, which is exactly why I extended my contract at Bayer 04."

Leverkusen's sporting director, Rudi Voller said:

"There are only a few centre forwards of his stature internationally. Added to Patrik's exceptional sporting qualities as a full-fledged striker are the skills of a leader."
