Barcelona president Laporta on De Jong future and Lewandowski deal

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has talked about the club's plans for the summer transfer window.

It's claimed by the Spanish press that

Frenkie De Jong

is available for the right price in the upcoming transfer window due to

Barcelona's

cash crisis which has alerted the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City.

It has been reported that Eric Ten Hag has identified De Jon as one of his summer targets. Ten Hag, who worked with De Jong at Ajax, is keen to link up with his former player at Old Trafford.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta in an interview with Radio Catalonia has responded to these reports.

He said:

“I don’t know if we will sell important players. If we complete some deals, maybe it won’t be needed. The priority is our financial situation, as of now. We’ll do our best for the club.”

Robert Lewandowski

also has been linked with Barcelona strongly in recent weeks, especially after he confirmed his desire to reject a new contract at Bayern Munich.

Laporta about the Bayern Munich star said:

“Lewandowski deal? It’s not easy, remember our financial situation wasn’t so easy. Let Jordi Cruyff and Mateu Alemany work."

Bayern Munich was initially determined to keep hold of Lewandowski but reports in Germany claimed that a figure of around €40-45 million could be enough to convince Bayern Munich to sanction the exit of Lewandowski.
