Lazio chairman claims he rejected £120m bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito claims he has received a huge bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Savic has been linked with Juventus and
Manchester Unitedand according to the Italian press
Laziowould sell him for around £66m but Lotito insists Savic is not for sale.
“We always talk about money; I always talk about the technical-moral qualities of the players,”
Lotito said to Rai Sport.
“Milinkovic-Savic is not for sale, I respect him a lot. Have I ever put him up for sale, is there for a sale sign? To buy, you need someone who sells.
“I respect Milinkovic-Savic very much, he can make a difference. I have a good relationship with him.
“If I were asked by a top team in the world, I would ask the player what he wants to do.
“In my club, there is first human value and then the economic one. When I made an indecent offer of €140m (£120m), I decided not to sell him.
“Today there is a problem of respect for men and footballers. If he were to decide that he had the opportunity of a completely different place, which must be at the top of the world, then I would ask myself the problem.”
The 27 year old midfielder has scored 10 goals and registered 12 assists so far this season.
