Coman receives a three-match ban and miss the start of the next season

The DFB has suspended Kingsley Coman for three matches after he was sent off towards the conclusion of Bayern Munich's 2-2 stalemate against Stuttgart.

After receiving a three-match suspension from the German Football Association (DFB),

Bayern Munich

's Kingsley Coman will miss the opening two fixtures of next season.

After raising his hand toward

Konstantinos Mavropanos

following a charge from the Greek defender at the Allianz Arena, Coman was handed a red card in injury time of Bayern's 2-2 draw with

Stuttgart

on Sunday.

It's a setback for the 25-year-old, who has eight goals and five assists in 32 appearances for Bayern this season across all competitions, but Bayern may still file an appeal.

The DFB confirmed in a statement on its website on Tuesday:

"Kingsley Coman [is] banned from three competitive games (championship and/or DFB cup games) by the Bundesliga club FC Bayern Munich in single-judge proceedings after the DFB control committee had brought charges for assault against the opponent after an anti-sporting act had previously been committed against him.

"In addition, the player is also suspended from all other competitive matches for his club until the suspension expires."

On Saturday, when the German giants play Wolfsburg in their last

Bundesliga

encounter of the season, the France international will face the first session of his ban.
