Guardiola: Dias, Stones and Walker are out for rest of season

Manchester City will be without their three defenders for the final three games of the season.

Pep Guardiola after the game against Newcastle confirmed that

Kyle Walker,

John Stones, and

Ruben Dias

will miss their last three games of the season.

Guardiola told reporters:

"Ruben, Kyle, and John are out until the end of the season. Muscular problems, we see what happens. We have 13 players and a half, Nathan isn’t in a perfect condition. We have no central defenders. If Phil Foden has to play central defender, he will play CB.”

Ruben Dias was replaced by Fernandinho at half-time against Newcastle. Walker was injured again in the second half of Wednesday's Champions League loss at Real Madrid and John Stones has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury.

After Liverpool dropped points against Tottenham on Saturday, Manchester City beat Newcastle with 5 goals to go three points clear of the Reds with three games to play.

City

will face Wolves on Wednesday night. West Ham and Aston Villa are their last two opponents this season. Liverpool will play with Aston Villa on Tuesday. Southampton and Wolves are their last two opponents this season.
