Calhanoglu on painful loss against Milan and future plans

Calhanoglu talked to

and revealed how much he spoke to Simone Inzaghi in the summer.

“I was with the national team, I spoke two or three times with the coach and immediately there was a connection. In the end we were both happy with my transfer.”

He also spoke about difficulties he has come across since joining Inter from Milan.

“I have played many roles, even out wide. I’m an intelligent player and I don’t think it’s difficult. You just have to listen to what the coach wants and I immediately focused on this team.”

He also rated his season during his interview.

“In my opinion I gave my all for Inter and for my teammates. I’m trying even now to do my best, we want to go up, we want to stay there. I’m happy but you can always improve.”

He then went on to share his thoughts on a good penalty’s secret.

“There’s no secret, I’m used to it because I’ve taken so many. In those moments you shouldn’t think so much.”

He also talked about how he is the first Turkish player to have played in 150 games in Serie A.

“Yes, I like being here in Italy and I am very happy to be here. Italy and Turkey are similar countries, I’m happy for these appearances and I want to make even more.”

The 28-year-old also talked about his plans for the future.

“I’m happy to be here, at Inter I feel at home and I want to stay.”

The player then admitted that Virgil Van Dijk is the strongest defender he has come across. He thinks San Siro is the most beautiful stadium and the nicest teammate he has had is Ionut Rau. He also believes that Gennaro Gattuso is the toughest choice and Ronaldinho was his childhood idol.
