Investcorp deciding on Maldini, Massara and Ibra’s futures at Milan

As per reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Investcorp does not plan to replace Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara but will give the Swede international a lower wage offer if he opts to remain put.

The Bahrain-based fund is reaching agreements in talks with

Elliott

over

Milan

taking over and may complete a €1.1 billion deal in the next weeks. Based on reports from

La Gazzetta dello Sport

, there are a couple of the initial steps they are willing to take should they buy the Serie A giants.

Although

Ivan Gazidis

may depart the club without Elliott, Paolo Maldini and Richy Massara will most likely stay in charge of the sporting section. Milan have developed immensely over the last few years and the potential new owners do not plan to change that.

Maldini and Massara will arrange a meeting with Zlatan Ibrahimovic when the season ends and reach a conclusion regarding the player’s future. The 40-year-old is keen on playing but if he decides to do it, Investcorp will just give him a lower salary that he is earning now, which is €7m per season.

They also aim to develop the Rossoneri’s brand more, so Ibra’s presence would be important to achieve that goal. However, the player has been dealing with a lot of injuries this season and he may not be a regular starter anymore.
