Liverpool finalize a deal to sign winger Fabio Carvalho from Fulham

The 19-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract with

this summer.

's current contract expires this summer, and if the teenager joins another English club before then, Fulham will be entitled to compensation set by a tribunal, whereas continental clubs will just have to pay a small amount.

According to reports, Carvalho has already completed a physical with the permission of his present club ahead of a deal that would see Liverpool pay

Liverpool's January move for Carvalho fell through as the

Premier League

club ran out of time on Deadline Day to complete the deal. Carvalho was due to join Jurgen Klopp's side and be loaned back to Fulham for the rest of the season, but no deal was reached and he remained with the Championship leaders.

Carvalho has seven goals in 29 Championship appearances for Marco Silva's Fulham this season, including a goal in the 4-1 FA Cup defeat to

. Following Harvey Elliott's transfer to Fulham in 2019, Liverpool was ordered to pay Fulham a record compensation price for a 16-year-old in February 2021. Fulham might get a sum in the region of £4 million if add-on terms are met, and they have also included a significant sell-on clause, estimated to be 20%.
