Senegal’s Sadio Mane beat Egypt to reach 2022 World Cup

Senegal beat Egypt in a penalty shootout to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

Egypt came into the match with a 1-0 aggregate lead after the first leg, but Hamdi Fathi's own goal gave Senegal an early second-leg lead. Senegal continued their dominance throughout the game, but failed to score and the game went to a penalty shootout.

delivered the winning spot kick as Senegal edged Egypt 3-1 on penalties to win a place at the

Senegal and Egypt also faced each other in this year's Africa Cup of Nations final, which again Senegal won 4-2 in an equally dramatic shootout.
