Al Ahly's Tau suffers injury after netting in the CAF Champions League

The Bafana Bafana forward met the target for the Red Devils before sustaining an injury during his side’s clash against Al-Merrikh.

The 27-year-old netted the opener for his side 19 minutes into the game and in the second half, Ramadan Agab scored an equalizer for the Sudanese outfit but Mohamed Sherif gave Al Ahly back their lead in the 72nd minute. Only a minute later, Ahmed Abdel Kader made their lead three and sealed his side’s victory.

Notwithstanding the victory, Tau suffered an injury and Taher Mohamed replaced him. The Al Ahly have confirmed that he should go under examination as he has a bruise in his knee.

Ahmed Abu Abla, the team’s doctor, provided details on the injuries of Tau and Mohamed Hany that forced them to withdraw from the game against Al Merrikh on Friday,”

“Abu Abla stated Tau suffered a bruise in his knee and he will undergo more examinations when the team returns to training. Abu Abla added that Hany felt pain in his adductor muscle and the coaching staff preferred to replace him.”

may get a blow due to the injury as he named him in his squad for the friendly against France and Guinea.

South Africa will lock horns with Guinea on March 25 before going against France on March 29.
