Atletico have now identified Vlachodimos as their main target. However, there has not yet been any negotiations between them and the player’s representative over his transfer to Spain.
The La Liga giants are not the only team keen on signing with him, as Marseille, Lille and Newcastle have also kept an eye on him since last summer.
Vlachodimos has not talked about Atletico’s link directly, but revealed that he would be keen on a move to Europe’s bigger leagues while insisting that he is happy in the Primeira Liga.

Benfica is a big, great club and I feel extremely comfortable in Lisbon,"

"Every footballer has the dream of playing in one of the four top leagues at some point, that's quite normal.
