Al-Ahly match will be spectacle - Sundowns coach

The head coach of the South African team believes that there will be an important confrontation in front of his team.

Mamelodi Sundowns

boss Manqoba Mngqithi has emphasized the importance of his side's win over

Al-Ahly

in the

CAF Champions League

.

Al-Ahly are currently second in Group A of the Champions League, four points behind leaders Sundowns, who have seven points. The Sundowns won 1-0 against the  title-holders in the first leg, gaining three valuable points, and now the Red Devils must win at home to finalize their place in the knockout round. On the other hand, Mamelodi Sundowns is looking to lead the group to face an easier draw in the next round, and now Mngqithi claims that there is an important confrontation in front of his team because both teams have the motivation to win.

“We are going into a very tough encounter. It’s a game that has so much insight and a game that can determine our season,”

Mngqithi said.

“It is also a game of consequence as both Al Ahly and ourselves are looking for a result that can maybe get us into the quarter-finals or stamp their position in the group stages, also considering that they lost the recent match against us at their home ground.

“Obviously, they will now come with vengeance hoping to try and upset us. But it’s a match that I think is enjoyable to the spectators.

“I believe when two big clubs face each other with a mentality to try and win the match and not just play for a draw or consolidate their place in gaining a point, it becomes a very interesting match for the spectators.

“So I believe that’s one thing that will make the match very special for the spectators because both teams will be looking for a result and whichever way it goes, it will have a positive spinoff in the public eye.”
