Xavi decided to leave Dani Alves out of Barca's Europa League squad

Xavi Hernandez has chosen which of his recent recruits will not be included in his Europa League roster.

Barcelona had a fairly productive January transfer window, adding three new players.

The Blaugrana had previously signed

Dani Alves

on a free transfer in January, and have since welcomed

Ferran Torres

on a lucrative deal,

Adama Traore

on loan, and

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

on a free transfer.

The issue is that until the knockout rounds, the

Europa League

regulations only permit three fresh registrations for the clubs.

Xavi will have to select among three of his four new recruits, which he has already done.

Xavi has opted to submit Torres, Traore, and Aubameyang, according to

Sport

.

As a result, Alves has been left out of the Europa League team and will be unavailable for any of the knockout round games.

Torres, Traore, and Aubameyang, meanwhile, will be allowed to face Napoli in the knockout round.
