Kyle Walkerreceived a red card during the Citizens 2-1 defeat in their last Champions League group stage clash against
RB Leipzig.
Reflecting on his dismissal against Leipzig in a recent interview, Walker said:
"My red card against Leipzig was a very bad judgment, a stupid error that a 31 year-old shouldn't be making with the amount of games that I've played.
"But I'm human, I make mistakes, I'm learning from that, and I'm going to bounce back."
In this regard, UEFA confirmed on Friday that the England international is set to face a three-match ban in UEFA competitions.
Walker’s challenge against Andre Silva was deemed as an "assault" by UEFA, thus, with the 3-game sanction, the English defender will miss both legs of City’s Champions League clash against Sporting CP in the round of 16 of the tournament.
The 31-year-old became the second-oldest Englishman (after Manchester United’s Paul Scholes) to be sent off during a Champions League match.
