Jan Oblak quarantined after tested positive for COVID-19

Atletico goalkeeper will not miss a match, but he will be in quarantine for a while.

Atletico Madrid

have announced that

Jan Oblak

, the club's goalkeeper, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Slovenian goalkeeper has played the most games for his team this season, but now he has to be quarantined for a while. However, given the 12-day gap between Atletico's next trip to

Barcelona

for their match in La Liga, the 29-year-old goalkeeper is not expected to miss any matches.

Club's statement reads:

"Jan Oblak has tested positive for COVID-19.

"Our goalkeeper remains isolated, strictly complying with the recommendations of the health authorities."

Oblak has played in 30 games for Atletico, with only two players, Jose Fonte and Anthony Rudiger (31), playing more than him in the top five European leagues. He has scored 26 goals in 21 La Liga games.
