Gerrad upset with Benitez dismissal from Everton

Gerrard is upset that his former manager has left the Premier League.

boss Steven Gerrard has complained about the dismissal of Rafael Benitez from

Everton

, but was shocked that he was willing to work at Goodison Park..

Benitez won just one game in the Premier League between October and January, and a 2-1 defeat to Norwich led to the dismissal of Benitez from the club by Farhad Moshiri. Benitez was

Liverpool

manager from 2004 to 2010 and won the Champions League and FA Cup with a team that Gerrard was it's captain. Now Gerrard now claiming that he was upset with the dismissal of his former manager.

"I'm disappointed for Rafa because obviously I've got a relationship and I've got an awful lot of respect for him.

"I have to be honest, I thought it was a unique appointment at the time. I was surprised and shocked that Rafa wanted to go and have a go at that job. With his legacy and his relationship with Liverpool, that was a surprise.

"Obviously it hasn't worked out for whatever reasons. You'd have to be inside the club to know why, which is none of my business."
