Benitez leaves Everton following his bad performance
Rafael Benitez will not be the Toffees’ head coach anymore because of his poor performance.
sits 15 in the Premier League, and they have only one victory since September, and the club’s board had been concerned, especially following their most recent defeat against
Norwich, and they had decided to have a meeting to discuss
Rafael Benitez’s
future with the Toffees, and the outcome of that meeting was the manager’s departure from the club.
Benitez was hired as the Toffees’ manager last summer, and the club’s owner Farhad Moshiri was hoping to see his side among the top clubs of the Premier League with the Spaniard, but he failed to make things better at Goodison Park, so the club has decided to part ways with him considering his performance.
Benitez was asked about his future after the Norwich defeat. He said:
"I am a professional and I have enough experience.
"I came here to fix issues that were coming from the last five years. What I have to do now is analyze the mistakes we are making and make sure we void that for the future. The rest is not in my hands."
The Toffees have collected only 19 points from their last 19 games in the Premier League, and they have conceded the first goal in their last nine games in all competitions, which shows a lack of quality and consistency, especially in their defense, so we have to wait and see what will happen to the Toffees after Benitez, and the candidates to take the position are
Duncan Ferguson
and
Wayne Rooney
, and it is reported that the club has already asked Ferguson to be in charge temporarily.
