Halilhodžić upset with Benoun removal from Morocco's squad

The Bosnian coach is upset that he has lost his defender.

Moroccan

coach Vahid Halilhodžić is upset that he was forced to remove

Badr Benoun

 from his squad.

Badr Benoun initially played for Vahid Halilhodžić's side for AFCON qualification, but the Moroccan coach decided to remove him and Bencharkhi from the 25-man squad. The CAF has decided to allow three more players to be included in the squad for the competition, with Bosnian coach added Badr Benoun on the 28-man squad alongside Soufiane Rahimi and Mohamed Chibi.

Benoun is unable to play Morocco due to injury and has been replaced by

Bencharkhi

, but Halilhodžić is upset that he has lost his defender.

He said:

“Badr is suffering from medical problems and can’t be with us now.

“And you know that we can make a change to the squad 24 hours before the first game, and the medical staff told us he wouldn’t be with us.

“Benoun is still with us, but it’s unfortunate what happened to him. It’s the third time he has had problems, and I’m very sad about him. You know that we replaced him at the last minutes,”

he added.
