Bertrand Traore’s header was cleared off the line when building up for the first goal, but he gifted a penalty for a trip on Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

Aboubakar netted the penalty after a lengthy VAR check. The Cameroon captain scored another goal eight minutes later following Issoufou Dayo sliding in on Nouhou Tolo for another penalty.

Cameroon started the tournament on the right foot, following their victory in their first game of Group A.
