Newcastle to sign Trippier in January window
The English star has neared the exit doors of Wanda Metropolitano with his poor performance in recent months.
After
Newcastle's shares were bought by the Saudi Investment Fund, a large amount of money was injected into the club and fundamental changes are expected. Eddie Howe has been appointed as the club's new manager and there are several acquisitions ahead.
One of Newcastle's first targets in the winter transfer window is Kieran Tripper, who currently plays for Atletico Madrid. Reports indicate that Atletico are more interested in selling the English defender than in the summer. He has suffered a number of injuries and will not have much time with Marcos Llorente in the squad.
Tripper has failed to score or assist in the last 928 minutes in La Liga and the Champions League, although Atletico have generally outperformed. They are currently in fourth place, 10 points away from league leaders
Real Madrid.
Of course, the situation in Newcastle has not been good this season and they are in the relegation zone. Newcastle are nineteenth level on points with 18th-placed Norwich and bottom-placed Burnley, three points behind 17th-placed Watford.
