Arteta hopes for a stellar performance from Partey against Man Utd

The Ghanaian midfielder is one of the main hopes of the players in tonight's match against Manchester United.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed hope that Thomas Partey will perform similarly to last season in tonight's game against

Manchester United

.

Partey had a great performance against Manchester United last season, so much so that Roy Keane wished he could play for the Red Devils. Arsenal and Manchester United will face each other today at Old Trafford and Partey is expected to play an important role in this match. In the previous match, which ended in a 1-0 victory for

Arsenal

, he touched the ball 85 times and recovered the ball 11 times from the opponent. Now Arteta praised his team star and expressed hope that he will see a similar performance in today's match.

"First of all, he hasn't had the consistency in terms of minutes and game play because the injuries have broken that in many, many occasions,"

said Arteta.

"Then it's the adaptation to the league, and you can see many, many examples of players who have come here and have needed some time.

"But he had a very early impact in that game, and what we are looking forward to is to have top performances consistently, and to do that he needs to be fit."

"He is laid back in the impression that he gives, but he is very demanding of himself. He has the right experience, and he's won quite a lot already in his career.

"That's what I want from him and I think his peak at this club is still not where it is right now."
