Carrick to lead Man United against Arsenal

Ralf Rangnick is waiting for his work visa and will not be able to sit on Man United’s bench for the upcoming game.

Manchester United

announced

the signing of Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager on Monday. However, the German manager will not be able to lead the team in their next league match against Arsenal on Thursday.

"Ralf Rangnick was announced as interim manager on Monday but, while the club follows the regulatory process around a work visa, Carrick will continue at the helm,"

Man United's official

statement

reads.

"Michael has communicated this to players and staff at Carrington in a busy week for the club."

Rangnick will take charge until the end of the season before moving to a consultancy role.

The German manager is tasked with turning things around at Old Trafford after the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Red Devils are far from their best form, standing in eighth place in the Premier League.

After their match against Arsenal, the Red Devils will face

Crystal Palace

in a league game on Sunday.
