Carrick set to lead Man Utd in Sunday’s clash against Chelsea
Michael Carrick remains the Red Devils’ interim boss as the club continues the search for a new manager.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had been under heavy pressure as
Manchester Unitedsuffered a lack of form since the beginning of the new season. Solskjaer was finally relieved of his duty following the Red Devils’ 4-1 loss to Watford in a Premier League clash on Saturday.
Former Man Utd star Michael Carrick replaced Solskjaer as the interim boss while the club has been searching the market for a new manager since the sacking of the Norwegian tactician.
It’s been rumored that United want to make a permanent appointment at the end of the season and
Paris Saint-Germainboss Mauricio Pochettino is their primary target.
Although Pochettino himself appears to be interested in returning to the Premier League, and Manchester are already linked with a number of tacticians such as Ernesto Valverde, Ralf Ragnick and Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag, it seems that the Reds are yet to come to a conclusion over Solskjaer’s successor.
Thus, current Manchester coach Michael Carrick will
continue to work as
United’s interim boss and will lead the Devils’ in Sunday’s Premier League clash against
Chelsea.
Carrick experienced a delightful debut as Man Utd’s manager in Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Villarreal, where the Manchester Reds managed to beat the Spanish opponent 2-0 and secure themselves a spot in the next round of the
European
competition.
