Saudi Arabia gets closer to Qatar World Cup

Saudi Arabia’s victory against Vietnam brings them closer to Qatar World Cup.

Saudi Arabia

defeated

Vietnam

to get one step closer to the 2022 Qatar World Cup, and even more importantly, they managed to stay at the top of Group B three points clear from the second team.

They had defeated Vietnam in the first clash in the group, and

Saleh Al Shehri

found the net for the visitors to secure another victory for Herve Renard’s Saudi Arabia to make them comfortable with reaching the World Cup for the sixth time.

Herve Renard’s men were stopped by

Australia

in their last World Cup qualifying game, and they entered the field to get back on winning track with a victory over Vietnam, but the home side wasn’t there to give up easily too as they were looking to pick their first points. Saudi Arabia had the chance to take the lead at the beginning of the game as Al Shehri headed the ball out when he was provided with a fine cross from Fahad Al Muwallad’s from the right.

It didn’t take long before Al Sheri made up for his mistake by finding the net in the 31st minute of the game with a beautiful pass from Al Muwallad, and Bui Tan Truong’s efforts weren’t enough to keep the ball off the goal. One goal was enough for Saudi Arabia to secure the three points and make their path shorter to Qatar World Cup.
