I hope to stay in Al-Ahly for the rest of my career - Afsha

The Egyptian star does not intend to leave the Red Castle.

Al-Ahly

and Egypt striker Mohamed Magdi Afsha expressed hope that he will stay in the Red Castle for the rest of his football career.

The 24-year-old striker has established himself as one of the league's best playmakers after moving to Al-Ahly in 2019. In his first season in the Reds, he was able to win the treble with the team and score his side's winning goal in the CAF Champions League final against Zamalek. Now the Egyptian star has expressed hope that he will stay at Al-Ahly for the rest of his football career.

Afsha told Al-Nahar TV:

“The trophies, the history, and the fans that support you are more important than all the money in the world, this is what I thought about before moving to Al Ahly.

“I hope that I will remain at Al Ahly for my whole life. If it’s possible to remain my whole life there, then I’ll do it.

“I will never ask to leave Al Ahly, no matter the offer, as it’s between the club and my agent.

“Trophies, of course [over trophies], they are history, money is definitely important, but what I want is my family to be proud of me."

Afsha recently claimed that Salah was not as skilful as other European players. There was a lot of criticism of him and now he has reacted to this issue.

He added:

“I didn’t say that Salah is not skilful, I said that he is a legend, humble and diligent, and he reached a position that is impossible for an Egyptian player to reach, but he doesn’t have the talent Messi, Isco or Kroos jabe. But who am I to evaluate Mohamed Salah,” he continued.

“At the present time, Mohamed Salah is the best player in the world, and god granted him his talent in his speed, unlike Messi in his skill. Salah was not saddened by my statement, as he is like my brother.

“Khaled Al-Ghandour, after my exclusion from the national team, spoke about that statement, why? This is a statement from a year ago, and people can imagine that there is a crisis between Salah and I, and this is not true.”
