Moismane wasted the historic win - Al-Ahly Legend

Al-Ahly had the opportunity to win a historic victory against its rival.

Al-Ahly

legend Emad Meteb, who is currently a pundit, believes that the team's coach, Pitso Mosimane, has wasted his team's victory over their old rival.

In their recent match, Al-Ahly defeated Zamalek 5-3 and took the top of the table. Zamalek's last defeat before this match dates back to the team's previous 25 games, which they lost to Al-Ahly in April 2021. Al-Ahly was 5-1 ahead of the opponent until the 80th minute, but then Ahmed Sayed Zizo managed to score Zamalek's second goal and Bencharki scored the third goal in the 90th minute. Now Meteb claimed that the head coach took the opportunity to win a historic victory with his decisions.

Meteb told ONTime Sport:

“Winning by five goals is great, and I was hoping to increase the number of goals, because facing Zamalek in this situation is an opportunity that will not be repeated very often.

“Subbing off Afsha was a big mistake from Mosimane and the substitutions were all negative passive. I was hoping that Ahmed Abdelkader would come on to change the pace of the match.

“Al Ahly’s fans are certainly unhappy that Zamalek came back from losing 5-1 to make it 5-3, because of the substitutions made by the Al Ahly coach.

“How can I be winning with five goals and still be stressed. I was hoping for Mosimane to maintain the form, but resorting to defense gave the opponent an advantage in the last minutes."
