Valverde to sign a new contract with Real Madrid

The Uruguayan star will stay at Real Madrid until 2027.

Goal confirmed that Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has extended his contract with the club and has included a € 1 billion termination clause in his new contract.

Valverde, who joined Real Madrid from Uruguayan side Penarol in 2016, has spent the last 6 years with the team. The 23-year-old star has become one of the key players on his team over the last few seasons and now his continued presence has become one of the club's top priorities and Los Blancos considers him one of his future stars.

Valverde's current contract runs until 2025, but Real Madrid have added two years to the contract to increase his salary and ensure his continued presence. They have also doubled Valverde's release clause to €1 billion, which will be officially announced soon.

Real Madrid have focused on retaining their core this summer, and Luka Modric, Nacho Fernandez, Karim Benzema, Dani Carvajal and Thibaut Courtois have extended their contracts. Valverde's value to the club is similar to the value of these players, so the club took action to extend his contract.
