Robertson gets injured in a friendly match

Andrew Robertson left the match in pain in the Reds friendly game against Athletic Club.

Jurgen Klopp

, who struggled with so many injuries last season, is afraid of getting stuck in another nightmare as he saw his left-back

leave the game, struggling with a right ankle injury.

Liverpool

faced

Athletic Club

in a friendly match on Sunday, and Robertson was trying to block a cross when he fell and was forced off after rolling his right ankle and gave his spot to Owen Beck.

Now the Reds will head into the next Premier League season next week, and Klopp is worried about having the same problem in the season.

Last season Jurgen Klopp faced a hard time finding players fit to play specifically in his defensive line as Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip all missing extended periods because of problems added to right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold’s fitness issues through the season.

Left-back didn’t seem so problematic last season as Robertson kept showing high-quality performances, and even if he didn’t do so, Kostas Tsimikas can be a good replacement for the Scotland international in that area.

The Reds, who will face Norwich in an away match in their first clash in the Premier League, may have to make their first activity in the transfer market after Klopp refused to make any major signings in the transfer window other than Ibrahima Konate, who joined the club from RB Leipzig with a deal that was finished before the end of the last season.
