Aguero misses Joan Gamper's clash against Juventus due to injury

Sergio Aguero could now be a doubt for Barca's 2021-22 season opener after picking up a calf issue.

The Argentine striker has been forced to sit out the Blaugrana's Joan Gamper Trophy clash with Juventus due to injury.

Barça have also confirmed that Clement Lenglet has suffered a knee injury, but that Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho is ready to play against Juventus.

"

Philippe Coutinho has been passed fit to return to action but Clement Lenglet and Sergio Aguero are both out,

" a statement on the club's official website reads.

"The French defender has a tendon problem in his right knee and is ruled out, with his return depending on his recovery.

"The Argentine striker has a right calf injury and will undergo more tests to find out the exact extent of the injury."

Now, with Aguero injured, his presence in the first game of the season against Real Sociedad on August 15 is unknown, and given that

Barcelona

no longer have

Messi

, it remains to be seen what tactics Ronald Koeman will take without the presence of his Argentine stars.
