Man Utd’s Lingard tests positive for Covid-19

The Red Devils forward is self-isolating after it was confirmed that his test for Covid-19 has turned out positive.

Jesse Lingard

will not feature for

Manchester United

in their friendly clash against

Everton

on Saturday.

The Red Devils will start their Premier League season in a battle against Leeds next Saturday.

United released a statement before their Everton clash, which read:

"Unfortunately, Jesse Lingard is unavailable after testing positive for Covid-19.

"He is isolating in line with Government and Premier League Guidelines."

The England international will be a more regular player for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season after playing for West Ham on loan in the 2020-21 season.

The 28-year-old impressed last season as he contributed to his side’s sixth finish on the Premier League table.
