Dean Henderson is still struggling with coronavirus

Manchester United’s Dean Henderson misses their training camp in Scotland.

Dean Henderson

tested positive for covid-19 a few weeks ago, but he hasn’t recovered yet, and he couldn’t travel to Scotland with the rest of the team. He had already missed the Euro 2020 because of a hip injury, but now he has recovered from that injury and is struggling with the virus that is keeping him from fighting for his place in the first team against the Spain international

David De Gea

.

The

Red Devils

have traveled to Scotland while the 24-year-old continues his recovery from Covid-19, according to the club’s statement that was released on Monday.

A club statement released on Monday read:

"Dean Henderson will miss Manchester United's Scotland training camp while he continues his recovery from prolonged fatigue after contracting a COVID-19 infection three weeks ago.

"He is expected to be training again soon."

The 24-year-old made 26 appearances for Manchester United last season, but it isn’t clear whether he will be able to help his side in their opening match in the Premier League against Leeds United on August 14.

Henderson teammate David De Gea, who has been fighting the club’s academy product for the number one goalkeeper spot, has joined the team for their pre-season training after his extended summer break after playing for Spain in the Euro 2020.
