Kulusevski: I want to defend better under Allegri

The Juventus midfielder says he is working on his defensive skills under the new manager.

Juventus won their first pre-season friendly against

Monza

with a 2-1 result on Saturday.

Filippo Ranocchia

opened the scoring for the Bianconeri before

Dejan Kulusevski

extended Juventus’ lead in the second half. Marco D’Alessandro scored a late goal for Monza, but that was not enough to prevent Juventus from winning the game.

In a post-match interview, Kulusevski spoke about Juventus’ performance against the Serie B side.

“It’s very important to start well,”

Kulusevski told

Italia 1

.

“We worked hard, it’s not easy to play the first friendly match like this. We won and that was important.”

Asked about working under Massimiliano Allegri, Kulusevski responded: “

I’m learning a lot from Allegri,”

the Swede continued.

“Above all, I’m learning on a defensive level, every day I learn something new."

Allegri returned to Juventus after the Turin side decided to part ways with Andrea Pirlo in May. The Swedish midfielder says his side are determined to win the Scudetto under the new coach.

“Last year it didn’t go as we wanted, even though we won two trophies. This year, we want to win the championship, we work for that.”

Juventus will continue their pre-season campaign with a friendly game against

Barcelona

on August 9.
